| After a very successful International Trade Initiative to Moscow last year, we will be returning to Russia in November 2008, from 10th -13th this year to make our mark in the Agro-Processing Sector. This sector has been identified by the dti's Foreign Economic Representative. We would like to have a delegation of 10-15 export ready firms and possibly some Export Council representatives from the following sector, to participate in this Mission. To be targeted during the visit is:
Agro-Processing Sector: fresh and processed products, herbal/natural products, wines and phyto-sanitary veterinary.
The event will comprise of hosting a trade seminar, presentations, round table discussions, press conference, business-to-business meetings and a mini exhibition.
Companies that apply to participate need to be export ready, be competitive in the South African market, have been in business for 2-3 years and have experience in exports. The companies identified will be screened and selected in line with EMIA and market requirements. EMIA will provide assistance, which includes financial assistance for a return economy ticket (up to a certain limit) and subistence allowance to cover hotel accommodation and local travel in Moscow.
Companies wishing to apply to participate in this ITI will have to complete the attached National Pavilion Application Form and return the completed form with the required attached documentation by no later than Friday, 25 April 2008. Guidelines for the National Pavilion Scheme (EMIA) are attached to assist with the completion of the application. Applicants are also requested to complete the company profile document which will be used for approaching potential foreign clients to arrange the business-to-business meetings for the approved companies.
